Jaeger O'Meara, Jesse Hogan and Josh Daicos all named in round 22 teams

Jesse Hogan is in the mix to play for Melbourne just 22 days after breaking his collarbone after the Demons named the key forward in their squad to face the Brisbane Lions at the MCG on Sunday, while injury-riddled Hawthorn recruit Jaeger O’Meara has been named to make his first senior appearance in 16 weeks, picked to face Carlton at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

Elswhere Collingwood have named father-son selection Josh Daicos for his AFL debut against Geelong at the MCG on Saturday, while Essendon have lost star defender Michael Hurley to a calf complaint and have rested veteran Jobe Watson as the Bombers ‘season likely goes on the line against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.

Key forward Tom Boyd has also been named in Footscray’s side for Saturday’s VFL match against Essendon, having not played for two months as he deals with mental health issues.
