De Gea has been a long-term target at the Bernabeu having come close to landing the United stopper in the summer of 2015.

The 26-year-old is from Madrid and the lure of returning to his home city could be too difficult to turn down.

Chelsea’s Courtois is also on Zinedine Zidane’s shortlist but the Blues will be reluctant to sell considering the Belgian’s fine form as they close in on the Premier League title.

And both sides could move for Man City outcast Hart as a solid replacement according to the Daily Mail.
